ZOOM WHITESPEED LIGHT-ACTIVATED WHITENING SYSTEM

IN-OFFICE TREATMENT
PROCESS

TEETH WHITENING RESULTS

Teeth whitening procedures are very effective but they are not permanent. The whitening may fade over time based on your eating and drinking habits.  We advise you to avoid food and drink that may stain or darken your teeth, such as  tea, coffee, red wine, dark soda, etc..

Each patient reacts differently and may have a different idea of what “white” means to them.

Philips Zoom light-activated whitening gel's active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, hydroxyl radicals enter the enamel and dentin, whitening colored substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged. The Zoom light aids in activating the hydrogen peroxide and helps penetrate the surface of the tooth. ii

ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Once the teeth are whitened, it’s important to take care of them. Freshly treated teeth may be sensitive to hot and cold food or liquids, so it’s best to stick to neutral substances for the first few days. Patients are also encouraged to avoid foods and drinks with a staining effect, such as coffee, tea, soda, and red wine.

Patients should not consume tobacco products after whitening, as tobacco can yellow the teeth. Regular tooth brushing and flossing are recommended to maintain results.

The most common side effect is tooth and gum sensitivity. Philips Zoom! whitening products contain 2 mild desensitizing agents, potassium nitrate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP), which are proven to reduce sensitivity.

This highly effective formula is ideal for patients who suffer from tooth sensitivity caused by gum recession, root exposure, post root planning, and whitening. iii

WHITENING FAQ

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums. Always ensure that products are compliant.

How long will my Philips Zoom! whitening results last?

Whitening treatments help to reduce existing stains, but through consumption of coffee, tea, dark soda, or through natural ageing, your teeth may become discolored again. Maintenance whitening at home can help combat recurring discoloration.

Who may benefit from tooth whitening?
Just about anyone can benefit from tooth whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. Our experienced staff can determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, including a shade assessment.

Will the whitening procedure be uncomfortable?

Your dental professional will ensure that your mouth is resting in a comfortable position during the procedure and you will still be able to swallow. There is little or no sensitivity reported during Philips Zoom! treatment however you may experience an awareness of the whitening happening.
